Anouk and Louis Solanet launched Orso Hotels in March 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, with the Rochechouart hotel as their first chapter. Louis comes from a family of Parisian hoteliers going back three decades; Anouk, a law graduate from Amsterdam, specializes in hotel renovations. Their conviction: tell stories, and recover hospitality’s true values. The Hôtel Rochechouart was born in 1929 at the foot of Montmartre, an Art Deco jewel on boulevard de Rochechouart. Renovated by the duo Festen, who brought a palette of warm tones, noble materials, and vintage finds, it revives the Pigalle of the Roaring Twenties without ever slipping into pastiche. 105 rooms, some with views of the Sacré-Cœur; Maggie restaurant, beating to the rhythm of the boulevard since the Belle Époque; a 100m² rooftop with a fig tree and a Chinese almond tree; the Mikado dance hall; and Citrons et Huîtres, the oyster bar by Marion Mailaender, just next door.
