"Tonight, I unfasten the wings from my back. I comb my hair and slip on my patent shoes."
Jacques Merle. Painter, draughtsman, embroiderer. Paris. Collaborations with Carne Bollente, Debeaulieu, Le Grand Mazarin.
Jacques Merle, also known as Des Jacqueries, is a Parisian artist whose characters and figures intertwine in dreamlike landscapes. He began with embroidery and illustration, then expanded his practice into mural painting. Words are the thread that runs through his drawings, written in his phone, evoking his stirrings, his doubts, the images with which he identifies. Collaborations with Carne Bollente, Debeaulieu, Le Grand Mazarin. Self-published fanzines, prints, original drawings, clothing. A poetic world between body, desire, and reverie.
