In the Perche, Maison Légère chooses rumpled linen over pristine bedrooms, and flea market finds over overly curated spaces. Designed by Anouck Leclercq and Jean-Baptiste Oger, the house was restored over three years. Nearly ninety percent of its furniture is second-hand.
Maison Légère begins with a journey. In 2021, Anouck Leclercq and Jean-Baptiste Oger returned from ten days in Lanzarote with a single vision: to recreate that feeling of true disconnection less than two hours from Paris. Seven property viewings later, they found an old house facing the village of Montmirail in the Perche Sarthois. It would take them nearly three years to transform it into Maison Légère.
Anouck, who has been sourcing antiques for fifteen years, curated the house almost entirely from second-hand finds: around 90% of the furniture and decor is vintage, from the sofas and curtains down to some of the light switches. Beams were reclaimed, an old garden sink became a vanity, and the kitchen was designed entirely bespoke.
This imperfection is intentional. Anouck loves crumpled linen, mismatched tableware, and objects that bear the traces of a previous life. Everything traditional hotels tend to standardize becomes, here, a way of welcoming guests.
Maison Légère accommodates up to seven guests, featuring a spacious kitchen, a fireplace, a kitchen garden, and the quiet countryside as your only neighbor.
