Wake up and smell the ROWSE. A Sunday morning at Le Doyenné.

8:17 AM at Le Doyenné. Dew still clings to the garden; ROWSE is already on the skin. The brand was born in 2018, on a gray Paris day, when Nuria Val and Gabriela Salord met over coffee and discovered a shared obsession with plants. Pooling their savings, they began with a single body oil.

The sheets are crumpled, shoes still sit at the foot of the bed, and outside, the dew has not yet left the garden. On the sink: a few ROWSE bottles. They say the countryside does wonders for the complexion. We weren't about to test the theory unassisted.

Yet the story of ROWSE begins in a far less bucolic setting: Paris, 2018, on a gray afternoon. Spanish photographer and traveler Nuria Val meets Gabriela Salord, then a beauty industry professional. Over coffee, they talk plants, skin, and their desire to return to more essential routines. That conversation eventually became a brand.

And the early days were a far cry from a twenty-product beauty launch. The two founders put about 30,000 euros of their own savings into the project, starting with a single body oil.

Nuria also brings something more personal to ROWSE than art direction: she photographs the brand’s universe herself. Her travels, the landscapes, the light, and natural textures thus become part of ROWSE's visual language.

Since then, that first little oil has grown into a house settled in Madrid, where ROWSE also has its own space, The Greenhouse. The brand continues to work with plant oils and botanical extracts, now incorporating biotechnology-derived actives like peptides and antioxidants. The formulas are developed and manufactured in Spain.

A few drops in the hands. The window slightly ajar. A face still marked by the pillow. Breakfast can wait five minutes. Bed of Rowse.
