Hydrated, organized, sitting at her walnut desk: who is she?

September at The Bureau. Laptop open, a fresh Carnet, a Qwetch resting on the walnut desk. In 2010, deep in the Danian mountains of China, Stéphane Miquel discovered a fascinating ritual: loose-leaf tea carried everywhere, from paddy fields to buses and offices. He returned to France with the concept of a "nomadic teapot." Fifteen years later, it is the ultimate back-to-work bottle.

She arrives at The Bureau at 9:02 AM, sets her laptop on her walnut desk, opens a pristine Carnet, and pulls a freshly filled Qwetch bottle from her bag. Hydrated. Organized. Unquestionably on top of her emails. Let us enjoy the illusion.

In 2010, Stéphane Miquel traveled to Danian, China, where he stayed with friends at the home of the director of the humanitarian association Couleurs de Chine. There, he noticed a local custom: people carried their tea leaves with them everywhere. At home, of course, but also in the rice paddies, on buses, in parks, and at work.

Upon returning to France, Stéphane decided to adapt this concept to Western habits, developing what he then called a “théière nomade”. Qwetch was born that same year. Fifteen years later, the little object inspired by a Chinese tea ritual has grown into a brand entirely dedicated to reusable hydration.

The stainless steel bottle is now the obvious choice. The Originals insulated models are crafted from 304 (18/8) stainless steel, keeping drinks cold for up to 24 hours and hot for up to 12. And in a welcome detail for those who grow attached to their things: Qwetch offers caps, seals, straws, and spare parts to repair and extend their life, along with a Re-Love program for products with minor cosmetic imperfections.

Since then, the company has become a purpose-driven company and a certified B Corp, with a mission that explains perfectly why a water bottle now belongs among beautiful desk objects: to make healthier, more responsible hydration “desirable.” In 2025, Qwetch earned its second B Corp certification with a score of 115.3, up from 96.3 in 2022.
