Emma Hill founded Damson Madder in spring 2020, after years in the fashion industry and growing disillusioned by the poor practices she saw there. The name comes from two colors tested during their first experiments with natural dyes: Damson (plum) and Madder (a flower used in dyeing). 95% of the cotton is organic, 90% of the fibers are responsibly sourced, and each piece is developed over 12 to 18 months. In a year, sales increased by 402%, including 636% from the United States.
