A door handle crowned with a massive quartz crystal. A floor of Corten steel. Water filtered through dolomite.
Specialty coffee shop, Paris 7th. Designed and founded by architect Sophie Dries. Café Partisan, Toutia pastries.
Sophie Dries is an architect and HMNOP designer, a graduate of ENSA Paris-Malaquais and Aalto University in Helsinki, trained at the École du Louvre, and experienced in the studios of Jean Nouvel, Pierre Yovanovitch, and Christian Liaigre. She opened her studio in 2014, in the 7th arrondissement. Quartz Café is her first specialty coffee shop, an ode to the neighborhood where she has been working for six years. Everything comes from the mineral world: quartz on the door handle, a Corten steel floor, a raw-bronze-effect counter, mirrors and Styx light fixtures produced by Atelier Moore, textiles by L/Uniform, and a sound system designed by Mateo Garcia. The water is filtered and remineralized through dolomite containing quartz; that is where the name comes from. Coffee sourced from Partisan, pastries by the Toutia duo.
