In 2012, the actor met the Perrin family, renowned winemakers from the Rhône Valley and Provence. Since 2009, the Perrins had been working with Professor Pierre-Louis Teissedre—a specialist in grape phenolic compounds—on a precise question: what more can be harvested from the pomace, the skins and seeds left behind after winemaking, rather than discarding it? Thirteen grape varieties were studied. Three were ultimately chosen for their rich antioxidant properties: Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre. Their initials inspired GSM10®, one of Beau Domaine's signature active ingredients.
When Marc and Pierre Perrin presented their research to Brad Pitt, he joined the project as co-founder, contributed to the design, and tested the formulas himself. The house recalls that after just a few days of use, he was convinced enough to make the products a part of his daily routine.
To this research on the vine is added the work of geneticist Nicolas Lévy, a progeria specialist. His discoveries on the mechanisms of aging helped develop the house's second active ingredient, ProGR3®.
The skincare line is developed and crafted in France, using grape pomace, vine shoots, and olive oil sourced directly from the Perrin family's estates. Best of all, the routine remains effortless, requiring no endless negotiation at the bathroom sink: cleanse, apply serum, moisturize.
