9ct solid gold. Muswell Hill, north London. For those who no longer want to choose between beauty and the everyday.
Laura Kay imagined Métier on the floor of her parents’ jewellery gallery, Tomfoolery, which has served North London for more than twenty years. In 2015, she launched Métier by Tomfoolery, and invented what would come to be called demi-fine: solid 9ct gold jewellery, affordable, delicate, designed to be worn and worn again every day. Her conviction: put an end to plated jewellery and disposable culture. Each piece is designed to style itself, to be interchangeable, and to stand the test of time. 95% of the gold used is recycled. Handmade in the UK and India. An independent brand, founded and led by a woman.
