Claude Type launches on January 26, 2026, by Margot Lévêque, a French type designer, as a tribute to Claude Garamont, the king's engraver in the 16th century, and to her grandmother Claudine, who taught her "what elegance truly means". Romie, her signature typeface, took seven years to create. Kalice and Ninna took between three and four years each. She sees herself as a first hand in a couture atelier, spending hours not on a dress, but on a single letter. Hermès, Vogue Singapore, Ariana Grande, Aperture Foundation, Spotify. A foundry conceived not because the market needed it, but because she wanted a quiet place, without an oversized catalog, where type is drawn slowly, with care and intention.
