Ayça Özbank Taskan was born in Istanbul, into a family of artists. After studying architecture in Italy, she lived in Finland and Germany before settling in Paris, where she founded Mara Paris in 2015 with her partner, designer Gökçe Taskan. She imagines her jewelry as small sculpted forms to be worn against the skin, inspired by Alvar Aalto, Carlo Scarpa, Zaha Hadid, Brancusi, and Jean Arp. Sterling silver, vermeil, 18ct gold, diamonds, pearls, handmade by artisans between Paris and Istanbul, shipped to more than 90 countries.
