The vintage treasures of their mothers at the feet of Parisiennes: Socque.

Childhood friends Laure Georges-Picot and Camille Cour grew up watching the women of their families slip into shoes and collect vintage treasures. From this, they created Socque, launched in Paris in 2022. Their boots, loafers, Mary Janes, and ballerinas revive these familiar silhouettes with a contemporary edge—at times androgynous, at times rock 'n' roll.

Have we not all rummaged through our parents’ or grandparents’ closets, marvelling at what we would wear when we finally grew up? Laure Georges-Picot and Camille Cour had a name for them: “vintage treasures.”

Do you remember? From the kitchen to the living room, those bohemian shoes beat the tempo of the house. An old melody, returning whenever the heart seeks a little sweetness. Waxed parquet, heel plates, creaking leather. Once upon a time, love could be heard approaching.

It was while gathering these vintage treasures from the women in their families that childhood friends Laure and Camille imagined Socque. They reinterpreted ankle boots, penny loafers, pumps, Mary Janes, and ballerinas. The classics are back, and with them, the rhythm. The twist? An androgynous allure with a subtle rock-and-roll edge.

And the craftsmanship keeps pace. European artisanship, responsible leathers, flawless finishes. Notably, Socque works with family-run workshops in the Porto region. An example? A family workshop led by a woman, spanning three generations of expertise. Plus, leathers sourced in Italy, Spain, and Portugal.

At Socque, everything is in the details. Look closer. For Coco, Socque’s first sneaker, Laure and Camille spent nearly a year working with their Portuguese workshop to find the perfect construction—somewhere between a sacchetto and a flat assembly. Inside, they slipped in a memory-foam insole to achieve the ultimate slipper-like comfort.
