Shoe Shoe Studio is the fruit of a second act. After seven years at Louis Vuitton designing knitwear and jersey, Élodie Verdan walked away from her career to return to her first love: footwear. She immersed herself in workshops and factories to master every step of the craft. Today, her Paris-based label refuses to choose between comfort, design, and impeccable quality.
Her ethos is uncompromisingly sustainable. By sourcing certified, traceable deadstock full-grain leather from Nona Source, Adapta, and Italian tanneries, she ensures that no new materials are produced. Production is kept close to home, split between family-run workshops in Italy's Marche region and France's Indre-et-Loire. From shoes and sandals to bags and cardholders upcycled from workshop scraps, everything is designed to endure.
In a signature Merka touch, every piece features its own "editorial," envisioned by a photographer or creative director. Case in point: the Robbie sandal in lime-tree green, captured by Sophie Arancio.
