The vintage wardrobe of Ben and Cris, sourced between Paris and Barcelona.

Ben is French, Cris Argentinian. After several cities and artistic projects, they launched Bonsergent Studio in Paris in 2016, later dividing their life between Paris and Barcelona. Their specialty: vintage chosen for its cut, fabric, condition, and origin, with a preference for pieces that could just as easily be contemporary. Issey Miyake, Céline, Max Mara, Sonia Rykiel, or a perfect, unlabeled coat: the name matters less than the eye of those who found it.

Before taking Bonsergent Studio online, Ben and Cris spent months sourcing and collecting garments, building up enough pieces to form a genuine, complete debut wardrobe. To shoot the collection, they simply asked friends to model, launching the project in Paris in 2016. Since then, the Frenchman from the South and the Argentine from Buenos Aires split their time between Paris and Barcelona, travelling constantly in search of new finds.

Their selection follows a few simple criteria: a beautiful cut, enduring fabrics, excellent condition, and a keen eye for where the piece was made. The result feels less like a thrift store and more like a carefully curated wardrobe: a Yamamoto dress in silk and wool, Pleats Please by Issey Miyake, Max Mara coats, Sonia Rykiel knitwear, vintage Céline, alongside many anonymous pieces chosen simply because they are beautiful and right.

Because each find is usually one of a kind, it is gone forever once sold. Ben and Cris admit they sometimes find it hard to part with certain pieces they have grown to love.
