The twin protagonists are Shila, a six-suite sanctuary housed in a 1920s neoclassical mansion in Kolonaki, and Mona, her more industrial sister, set in a former textile factory in Psirri.
Around these two properties, House of Shila has quietly gathered a family of artists, photographers, designers, and artisans. Their creations live in the rooms before finding their way to the shop: ceramics, jewelry, clothing, textiles, photographs, and objects. The boundary between hotel, gallery, and boutique dissolves beautifully: House of Shila even warns that certain treasures might be temporarily out of reach because they are living in a guest’s room.
At Mona, artists are invited to inhabit and transform a suite. Photographer Elise Wouters explored solitude and femininity, while sculptor Angeliki Stamatakou worked with clay, light, and organic forms, leaving behind works that guests can now collect.
Even Eftihia Stefanidi, the creative force behind the Shila and Mona universe, offers her own photography here, including Hydra Afternoon, a limited edition of only five prints.
