Late 2016, after more than five years in fashion, Gloria Lladó founded her brand. Inspired by Japanese craftsmanship, she began sketching kimono-dresses adorned with delicate prints. When two business partners joined her, Burak Ay and Albert Amor, the name came together: eikō [栄光], meaning "glory" in Japanese (for Gloria), and ai [愛], "love" (a nod to the others). eikō ai was born—thoroughly Spanish, despite its Japanese air.

Based in Barcelona, the brand produces limited-edition pieces made locally. Dresses, kimonos, jumpsuits, all rendered in vibrant, organic hues. Its universe—which she describes as "inclusive, cosmopolitan, sensual, and magical"—draws on light, analog warmth, and fantastical tales, even going so far as to launch digital avatars as ambassadors.

Noticed by Vogue and WGSN (which praised its "futuristic, dreamlike twist on resort classics"), the brand has built a true community.
