Yasmine Eslami’s first love affair with fashion lasted ten years, and its name was Vivienne Westwood. Fresh out of Studio Berçot, the young Parisian headed to London and stepped into what she would describe as a round-the-clock Westwood universe. She handled press, studio work, castings, and runway shows, working closely on Red Label. This was the '90s: supermodels ruled the world, and backstages offered scenes almost too wild to invent: Naomi Campbell tumbling from dizzying platform heels on the runway, and Kate Moss walking down the catwalk while eating a Magnum bar.
Above all, London taught Yasmine a certain freedom—in color, in the body, and in a style of fashion that refused to play it safe. After Westwood came Paris, styling, and Purple, followed by the launch of her own lingerie house in 2010. There, she translated that same freedom into something far more intimate: tulle, lace, vibrant color, and as little fabric as possible, crafted with just enough technique to support the body without ever restricting it. Yasmine makes one thing clear: she has never designed lingerie as a sexual object meant to seduce, but always with the women wearing it first in mind.
Her muses are often her own friends. Jeanne Damas was one of the very first: still a teenager, she posed for Yasmine through Olivier Zahm’s lens, eventually lending her name to a lingerie line. And in another beautiful echo of her London years: at the launch of a capsule collection with Maison Kitsuné, Kate Moss arrived on Vivienne Westwood's arm, bought the collection, and posed for photos proudly showing off her bra.
