The story begins with two London sisters, Christie and Rosanna Wollenberg, who lived together and gladly shared—though the term remains open to debate—the contents of their jewelry boxes. When they launched the brand in 2016, both still worked full-time, spending evenings and weekends in their kitchen developing their very first collections.
A few years earlier, Christie was working for Louis Vuitton in the Middle East. While there, she had small diamond-set huggies and Arabic name necklaces custom-made, which she brought back home for her family. Friends took notice, asked where to find them, and soon began placing orders.
The two sisters made this their signature: tiny, stackable hoops, delicate chains, ear cuffs, pendants, and personalized jewelry, all captured in that uniquely London in-between space.
Even the name tells their story. Otium, in Latin, evokes time dedicated to oneself and chosen pursuits; berg comes from their family name, Wollenberg. A brand ultimately born from the free time of two sisters and the jewelry they simply wanted to wear themselves.
One question remains, which Richard Curtis curiously forgot to ask: is the British Boy still the perfect son-in-law if he doesn't know our ring size?
