Auralee was founded in Tokyo in 2015 by Ryota Iwai, formerly a designer at Mackintosh. The brand begins from a simple conviction: everything starts with the fabric. Each collection begins with research and the development of new materials, silks, wools, cottons, blends, often woven in the most discreet mills in Japan. The silhouettes are pared back, the cuts precise, the colors soft and exact. Auralee makes no noise. It makes clothes you keep for a long time, that age well, that feel like something deeply personal.
