Aritzia spends autumn in Paris. I peered inside her suitcase.

The Canadian design house photographs its new collection in the streets of the capital, imagining a wardrobe for a city in motion. Architectural tailoring, brushed cashmere, effortless layers, and silhouettes fluid enough to match the tempo of the streets. Inside the suitcase? An impeccable coat, a few knits to drape over the shoulders, and pieces designed for walking along the Seine. The October Aritzia Parisienne grew up in Vancouver.

Aritzia was born in Vancouver in 1984, but for Fall 2026, it clearly had Paris on its mind. Its new campaign leaves Canada behind to follow a woman through the streets of the capital, with a singular vision: “a city in motion, a seasonal shift and a wardrobe that moves with the same ease.” Translated into style: brushed cashmere, deeper tones, architectural tailoring, defined waists, and pieces layered as September changes its mood. Aritzia even speaks of garments tailored for strolls along the Seine.

There is something quite charming about watching this Canadian house, founded by Brian Hill in Vancouver over forty years ago, coming to observe how we navigate autumn. Hill started in the family business, recalling how he swept the store and took out the trash, before opening the first independent Aritzia boutique at just 23. Not always finding the clothes he wanted to sell from others, he eventually developed his own labels—Babaton, Wilfred, Tna, and the rest—building not just a single silhouette, but an entire wardrobe.

Forty-two years later, Aritzia brings this vision to Paris. I took a look inside the suitcase: plenty of cashmere, an excellent coat, and, clearly, the perfect attire for long walks.
