A room of one’s own. Like Virginia Woolf. A bed by Under, it goes without saying.

Virginia Woolf set material independence as the prime condition for women's writing: money and a room of one's own. Complete with a locking door. Based in Milan, the brand creates percale sheets, towels, and blankets as objects crafted for those hours when we write, read, and lose ourselves.

Based in Milan, the young brand seeks to create textiles that absorb the rhythms of our homes, becoming quiet companions to our unmapped daily rituals.

The sheets are crafted in Portugal from 200-thread-count organic cotton percale, finished with a crisp, cool, matte feel. Under subjects them to a specialized wash, intentionally highlighting the fabric's natural creases and beautifully lived-in texture. Duvet covers close with a row of small, contrasting buttons; GOTS and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certifications complete the technical details.

Color does the rest. Rather than a stark white bedroom, Under curates its bedding like a wardrobe: butter with rose, azure with cacao, light blue with navy. On their website, the Shop by Look section takes the concept further, offering ready-made pairings—like a butter duvet cover with a rose pillowcase.

The story doesn't end in the bedroom. The towels are also crafted in Portugal, while the merino wool blankets come from Italy. The brand works exclusively with responsible manufacturers, often giving a second life to dormant textile stocks.
