Two and a half hours from Paris and three kilometers from the sea, where Jérémy and Nicolas have awakened an old mill.

Once known as a designer and an optician, Nicolas and Jérémy are now the proud owners of a former mill in Dannes. A waterfront guest house, curated finds, family heirlooms, homemade breakfast, and the beach just three kilometers away. The rooms even bear the names of their grandmothers: Anne-Marie, Nina, Élia, and Claude.

Converting a windmill is a beautiful exercise in architectural and decorative style. Nicolas and Jérémy rose to the challenge brilliantly—though they weren't even looking for a haven of peace on the Opal Coast.

After the lockdowns, the two Lille residents, one a designer and the other an optician, wanted a change of pace: more space and a life lived in harmony with the seasons. Nicolas simply typed "house for sale" and searched far and wide: Réunion, Ardèche, Belgium… until an old windmill appeared on his screen. A twist of fate, wonderfully arranged: it was located in Dannes, where Nicolas had spent his childhood holidays. A single visit was all it took. In 2021, the adventure of Moulin Moulin began.

The building had already lived several lives, home to five generations of the same family. Rather than erasing this heritage—the footsteps of children and grandchildren, the cheerful mornings, the patina that only love can bestow upon stone—Nicolas and Jérémy chose to extend it. The old main house preserves its family home spirit, filled with heirlooms, flea market finds, and design pieces.

The family's presence lingers everywhere. The four bedrooms are named Anne-Marie, Nina, Élia, and Claude, in tribute to their grandmothers. Nina, Jérémy's paternal grandmother, was actually named Antonina before adopting this diminutive upon arriving from Sicily. It is to her that Jérémy owes his love for Sicilian cuisine and the vivid memory of her lasagna with peas, eggs, and ham.

Outside lie a pond, a rowing boat, and the garden; further off, the dunes of Mont Saint-Frieux, then the beach, just 3 km away. Sainte-Cécile is a brief fifteen-minute bike ride.
