Interiors by Kelly Wearstler, cuisine directed by McGuire Moorman Lambert, Austin Proper is an immersion in design and well-being, in the heart of the Second Street District. The facade of prefabricated concrete and glass is worn away in places, revealing ribbons of glass and balconies. The entrance is framed by charred wood slats, made using the Japanese shou-sugi-ban technique. Sports massages, sound baths, Tesla test drives, artisanal tequilas at sunset from the rooftop pool, and a rotating Spotify playlist that moves from the Black Keys to Giovanni Damico.
